We know, Summer is over. The cool breeze is beginning to infiltrate your evenings and the fantastic tan you worked so hard for is starting to fade. Are we down? Well….maybe a little. But are we out? Heck no!

Autumn is an extraordinary season in Ontario and one of the most visually spectacular. The fall colour change across the great lakes can actually be seen from space - but you don’t have to travel that far. Don’t fret over the waning of summer! Grab your fall scarf and get our there to celebrate as the deciduous forests across the province prepare for their winter slumber with a chorus of colour and texture.

Want to know where to go? We’ve got you covered!

To start the season we recommend Algonquin Park. With a high concentration of sugar maples, the leaves turn early and show a staggering array of colours. Don’t worry if you don’t make it out in time - Algonquin boasts a second wave when the poplar and birch trees change in late Fall. For the more outdoorsy crew you can arrange a portage or canoe trip, rent a cabin, or even camp well into the Fall season.

Muskoka isn’t just for cottages and water skiing. See a whole different side of the region as the fall colours emerge across the rolling hills. With ample opportunities to pamper yourself or share a romantic getaway, it’s worth the drive to steel away for a few days. The Bruce Peninsula offers a rustic landscape with glorious contrasts between colourful foliage and the crystal clear waters of Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. No adventurer will be bored with ample hiking trails, waterfalls, caves and shipwrecks to explore.

If you feel like staying closer to Toronto to experience the grandeur of Fall, the Credit Valley is a surprisingly accessible and picturesque option. Meander through footpaths along the Forks of the Credit or Cheltenham Badlands, and stop by for a hot toddy or late lunch at one of several Inns in the area.

We can’t talk about fall getaways without including the Niagara Region or Prince Edward County. Truly at their peak with fall harvests, both regions are abuzz with active wineries and golden landscapes. With an endless collection of wineries, cider houses or breweries to explore, every visit feels like your first time to the region with ample surprises around each corner.

Be bold - get out there - and take in the splendour Fall has to offer!
